Brick, stucco and a roof Thursday, May 31 2012

The Bumpkins had a quick overnight trip to Baton Rouge and upon returning last night, we saw a great deal if progress had been made. The brick work looks great and the stucco has started. What you see here is not the final color. Inside, the sheetrock is in, waiting to be taped. We hope to have better pictures by weeks end.

Sheetrock Stage Update

Here is a new status update on your home at Lot 0xxx xxxxxx xxxxx! It is starting the Sheetrock Stage, which lasts approximately 6 days. During this time sheetrock will be hung and finished. During the sheetrock stage work will still proceed on the outside of the house. This includes applying the brick and stucco (if applicable), as well as beginning the siding installation. Once sheetrock is complete, the home will enter the Trim Stage. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to ask!

We are really making progress!

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Progress you can’t see from the outside. Wednesday, May 23 2012

As of yesterday, not much seems to have changed. It’s when you walk into the house you see what’s been going on. The AC ductwork is in place, gas lines, waters lines and electrical have all been installed. Pot lights are in. On the outside, roofing materials are sitting in the front yard, as is a big mound of sand for the brick mortar.

We are less than two months away from moving in!!

Parade of Homes Sunday, May 20 2012

Today, we are spending some time checking out the St. Tammany Home Builders parade of homes. Well actually, we are focused on those that are in West St. Tammany and in particular those in covington and Madisonville. I gotta say, this was not well thought out.  We went to one home, but the security guard at the entrance to the hood was a real piece of work. And the house, while nice, was less than spectacular, and for over 1/2 million? We’ll pass. These builders are really making dsld look better and better with each one we visit…

Another update from the builder! Thursday, May 17 2012

Just recieved this from Kassandra, our salesperson/contact with DSLD.

EEK! Friday, May 11 2012

Just got a call from our lender.  That whole process is starting to get going.  This is the nail-biting part for me.  Bill and I have worked our buts off to fix our credit and past stupid mistakes. That process is a post in the works (I promise) and have been saving, saving, saving.  But until we sit at the closing table and get the keys, I’ll be a mess.  In the meantime, I’m going to take my Seester (sister in law) by the house later today and  take the daily picture, of course.
